Info Post

I was strangely reminded of the TV series Justified when reading about The Lucky Bones. The show is about a U.S. Marshall returning to police his home county in Kentucky. They filmed the pilot of that TV show on location where the drama was set and you can feel it, you know it. They filmed the following 12 episodes in L.A and I started to lose interest. It didn't sound the same, it didn't look the same, it didn't feel the same. This thought came into my head when I read that The Lucky Bones debut album Together We are all Alone in Bastrop, Texas using local musicians. I think you can hear that on the record.

The band is led by Eamonn O'Connor. The group are already an established act touring Europe and the US at the moment. The music is what I would define as americana rock; not too abrasive to call alt-country and not too pastoral to be labelled americana. As reviewers have said already, the album combines the best of both Ireland and Americana in its lyrics and music. My favourite tracks on the album are the upbeat ones. I've picked out the title track and "Towards the Setting Sun" for your aural pleasure.

The Official site is here and you can preview and/or buy the album here. Also Justified is worth checking out.
